Since joining our company in 2013, Katia Felix, Head of Global Human Resources Projects & Initiatives, has seen Novocure grow and change in many ways. She is not afraid to bring her own ideas to the table to break new ground.
She believes her confidence comes from the supportive culture cultivated by the company’s leadership. Her leaders and peers trust her and readily offer help when needed.
“Innovation plays a role in our daily work, in every single aspect of our business. Being stagnant is not an option,” Katia said.
In her first years at Novocure, Katia felt a need to develop career paths for employees and to strengthen our training programs, to retain the talented people we attract.
“I think that our employees are our greatest assets,” Katia said. “If we provide our teams with the tools and respect they deserve, they will in turn provide excellent care to our patients, resulting in a mutual gain. This approach has consistently guided my actions.”
After sharing her ideas with members of Novocure’s management team and her promotion to Associate Director of Global Strategic Development in 2018, Katia received the opportunity to implement the first career paths and training programs for employees.

“Even if I need to adapt and grow myself to initiate a broader change, I will embrace it wholeheartedly,” Katia explained.
In 2020, she supported the launch of a more comprehensive global career pathing initiative, before assuming the position of Head of Global Human Resources Initiatives. “Joining the Human Resources team provided me, once again, with a fresh opportunity to reimagine my role and carve out my unique journey within Novocure,” she said.
For Katia, innovation begins with an idea, which then develops by including others, and incorporating their feedback: “My roles at Novocure have shown me that fostering innovation and creativity depends greatly on collaborative dialogues based on empathy and inclusive decision-making, even if, for that, we need to slow down the process,” she said.
“I have learned to value multiple perspectives within a team, even when differing opinions are expressed. At the end of the day, we will focus on what is best for our patients.”
Katia also integrates innovation in her personal life as a mother of three sons and a grandmother of three girls. “For every stage of my children’s lives, I made a sincere effort to adapt to their thinking and ways of communicating,” she said. For example, Katia found new ways to spend quality time together. Now that she has grandchildren, she once again thinks deeply on how to communicate with them, building personal bonds across geographical and generational boundaries.
After more than a decade at our company, Katia’s enthusiasm is unwavering. She senses the positive impact her projects can bring to both her colleagues and our mission of extending survival in some of the most aggressive forms of cancer. She eagerly anticipates the promising future ahead for Novocure: “We’re all eager to contribute to the next chapters of our patient-forward journey,” she said.
